I got some very sad new last night, we lost my grandpa. He was in the hospital for just two days due to a aneurysm that was in his stomach. The doctors had been watching it and he had come it with pain and they found out it had moved. So they placed him in ICU and had planned to do surgery today actually. Well last night after he had had dinner he crashed in his room, they immediately took him in for emergency surgery but he was gone. The doctor told us that while in surgery they found a very large mass in his stomach and were sure it was cancer. My Grandpa is not one for receiving medical attention, in fact the only reason he was even at the hospital was that he was forced by family. Anyways with the cancer they found my Grandpa would have been in alot of pain for a long time while it slowly attacked him as he would not have opted for treatment. So I guess the one thing we can be thankful for is that we went fast and did not have to suffer. My Grandpa was 85 and lived a great life, till the day he went to the hospital he was riding his Harley, horseback riding & just a pretty adventurous Cowboy. He will be greatly missed and always in our hearts.

I was very close to my Grandpa, at time he was more like a father to my sister and I in the absence of our own. I have so many wonderful memories that I will hold on to for the rest of my life, I know that I am a better person today because of him. As my sister would say... Grandpa was a man of few words but when he spoke we had better listen. I was blessed to have him walk me down the isle on my Wedding Day and also be able to spend time with both my boys.

We will miss you Grandpa...
